CONFORMATION: is when the dogs are shown and the dogs are examined for structure, color, shape, temperament, movement against the other dogs of the same breed and when they win their breed they move to the groups (Herding, Terrier, Working, Sporting, Non Sporting, Hound & Toy) and then are weighed against the breed standard to most fit their standard and the other dogs are weighed in the same fashion. The dogs that fit their breed standard and most epitimize their breed, place or win in their group.

The reason that this is important is that it keeps all dogs within a breed looking, acting, and able to move and maintain their structure and move to do the jobs that they were bred for and meant for.

Legitimate and responsible breeders of a breed ALWAYS BREED TO THE STANDARD AND NEVER CHANGE THIS QUEST. If you look at a breeders dogs and they do not reflect in full the above look physically it means that they are not breeding to the standard. If the breeders who are backyard breeders, puppy mills or merely for profit breeders are allowed to sell and market their puppies and these puppies in turn are bred, the lines that are produced often become unrecognizable as Bouvier des Flandres. This is a very sad turn of events.

We at Bajoron do not demand but urge our owners to dip their toes in the conformation ring and get their American Kennel Club Championship Title so that they learn and see what the bree is all about.
